Welcome back to Trendline where I share top charts on investing & business trends. Let’s dive into today’s post.

1) Young ppl are more single today than ever before: More than 50% of 18-34 year olds are not living with a partner compared to only 30% in 1980. While this data is for US, similar trends can be found elsewhere, esp. in the western world. What do you think are reasons behind this trend?

2) $TRUMP Meme Coin was purchased by new cypto (Solana) users: “According to Chainalysis, nearly half of those who bought the token – or the Melania meme coin released the next day – were likely new investors who created their first crypto wallets the same day”

3) Robot adoption in manufacturing across the world: Robot density serves as a barometer to track the degree of automation adoption in the manufacturing industry around the world. Robot density has grown from avg. 74 units per 10,000 employees in 2016 to 162 units per 10,000 employees in 2023 (~2x in 7 years). South Korea, Singapore and China have the highest robot density in manufacturing across the world.

4) 4G Internet Access has reached 90% of the world: Nine in ten people in the world were in the range of a 4G network in 2023, compared to only 44% in 2015. Access in regions like Asia and Africa has grown rapidly. Having access opens the window for employment in many parts of the world.

Note that being in the range of a 4G network doesn’t mean that someone is using it. If people don’t have a mobile, computer, or service to connect, they might be in the range of a network but not online
