🎯 Amazon's stock is now cheaper
Stock up 489% but valuation down 78%
Welcome back to Trendline!
Lets dive into today’s top 5 charts for investors👇️
1) Amazon is trading at its cheapest valuation multiple in the last 9 years: Amazon stock is up 489% since 2016, but its valuation has collapsed 78% in the same time period. Amazon’s operating income has grown handsomely in the last 5 years - 371%! Is the lower valuation justified or is Amazon undervalued?

2) Only 53% of cars sold in US were made in US: Interesting chart on where the cars sold in US in 2024 were made. Most big manufacturers produce cars all over the world and sell it in US with Tesla being the only exception - 100% of Tesla cars sold in US were made in US.
3) Americans are behind on car payments: More than 6% of borrowers are at least 60 days late on their car payments. This metric is the highest its ever been. Consumers are delaying holiday plans and consumption in general - all signs pointing towards slowing economic activity in the US.

4) Poland set to overtake Japan in Real GDP per capita in 2026: What a great success story Poland has been! No one would’ve imagined this back in the 80s during the cold war era. Poland’s success hasn’t happened overnight and has been driven by a mix of factors, including strong export industry and internal demand.
5) BlackBerry revenue peaked 4 years after iPhone launch: Astonishing chart really. BlackBerry revenue grew almost 350% in 4 years after iPhone launch. Even breakthrough technologies & products (which iPhone certainly was) can take a while to catch on.
If iPhone launch hadn’t coincided with the market downturn of the Great Financial Crisis of 2008, I wonder if BlackBerry investors would have been that eager to dump the stock.
